Club Person of the Year Award

The Club Person of the Year award recognises a Club member who has strived beyond the normal call of duty in a voluntary capacity during the year for the overall benefit of the Club and its members.

The Club Person of The Year is someone who has made a real difference to the Club in that time. The award is usually chosen and presented by the Club Chair.

The Sue Howson Award

Sue was the life and soul of any team she played in and was a committed player and member of Lancaster Hockey Club. She played various positions from striker to goalkeeper.  Sue died in a tragic accident in 2000.

To celebrate and commemorate her life we present an award to the Club’s top goal scorer and best performing goalkeeper on alternate seasons.

The Ruth Burdett Award

Ruth was an umpire who had been involved with the Club over many years. It was her wish to leave the Club a legacy to support the junior section.

This award recognises a person who has given their services to our junior/gators section or a junior member that has shown commitment to volunteering/umpiring over the course of the season.

The Smithers Unsung Hero

Helen Smith played for Lancaster Hockey Club for over 25 years. During these years Helen worked tirelessly in the background supporting and moving the Club forward to the Club we have today. She took on roles throughout the Club such as 1st Team Captain, Secretary and Treasurer. Helen was an inspiration to all who were honoured to meet her.

This special award will be presented to someone that has worked hard in the background for a number of years to the benefit of the Club.
