North West Women's Division 3 North (Central): Lancaster & District 3 (0) vs Chorley Phoenix 2 (2)
Lancaster & District Ladies’ Third Team were narrowly defeated 0-2 by Chorley Phoenix 2 in a hard-fought home encounter on Saturday, November 22nd.
The match was a determined defensive effort from both sides, with Lancaster working tirelessly to repel the visiting attack. The deadlock was broken midway through the first half when Chorley Phoenix’s Jo Smith found the net in the 20th minute, giving the visitors a narrow 0-1 lead at the break.
Lancaster pushed hard for an equaliser in the second half, with the team creating chances and showing resilience in their midfield and defensive lines. However, they were ultimately unable to convert their pressure into a goal. The result was finally sealed in the last minute of the game when Jo Smith completed her brace in the 60th minute, securing a 0-2 victory for Chorley Phoenix 2.
Lancaster & District 3s will take heart from their defensive performance and look to convert their attacking efforts in their upcoming fixtures.
